Some Things We Think Are Important

We believe in the intrinsic importance and practical value of critical thinking for individuals, teams and organizations.

We want to help deliver execution, achievement and advancement for individuals, teams and organizations.

We believe providing feedback is an essential tool, an art and a courtesy.  The same is true of receiving feedback.

It’s amazing how few people are good at either.

We think planning is extremely important, and that no plan survives its first contact with reality intact.

We think everyone in an organization has a leadership responsibility to everyone else (ask us about this and be prepared for an involved and pretty well thought-out answer).

Adding panic does not accelerate resolution.  Many of the projects we work on are business-critical or even career-critical issues.  By the time we get the phone call, things have usually been sitting unresolved for quite some time and tempers can be running high.  Once we are ‘in the building’, we know what the stakes are.  Our reputation is now tied up in improving things.  We won’t panic, and we will be calm and methodical; we help teams work the issues, not each other.

The business is a person too.

Failure happens, for all sorts of valid reasons.  Let's shake it off and learn from it together, as quickly as we can.  There are no excuses, only causes.  The organism that fails, learns and successfully adapts quicker than any other will be the best adapted to its own unique environment.
